@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 OKAY I was speaking about the cancel button and the auto-save-when-leaving interaction in this case though Edit will indeed be gone.

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 Like in dynamics365, sap or even Openerp in its time :) I was skeptical initially, but I honestly believe the experience is much nicer Wait till you use it for judgement, you might be surprised

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 All the echoes we received were the same: unsure initially, happily surprised after a few minutes.

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 It saves time, layout space, some view logic and UX can be simplified, reduce noise caused by accidental clicks (in the chatter logs), etc What we introduced in v15 was a sort of hybrid system, with edit/readonly modes and semi-automatic toggles between them.

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 That wasn't a super nice experience all in all - toggling between the two meant a redraw occurred in the browser, sometimes even a layout shift which could cause misclicks, etc.

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 We had a choice to either "go back" to the previous behaviour, or move forward in the same direction as most online tools (even ERP-like tools). We chose the latter, because we honestly believe most users will find it more natural.

@AamLars @Odoo_Bot @Yenthe666 It'll take a bit of time for dinosaurs of Odoo like you and I to get used to it, but in all likelihood much less time than you might think 🙃
