Hyia there! Like some other people today, I will be leaving Twitter soon (will keep the account open - but locked - to periodically check for people I follow on Bluesky). Although I do not believe this platform should necessarily be closed or silenced - explanations in 🧵

When you visit a foreign country, you adapt to the local customs, as silly as they may be. To me that's the end of the debate right there. If you don't, you'll be badly received by your hosts, and it's perfectly normal. You are a guest, act like it. x.com/MichaelAArouet/status/1828066919565471759

I've seen remarkably very few examples of how to generate a graph code base into a knowledge graph db like @neo4j; although a lot of people talk about it and it seems to make sense from a high-level thinking. I assume these tools are somewhat always tailor-made. 🤔

As a side project, I've been trying to see if #LLM can get somewhat good at #odoo development The biggest hurdle I stumbled upon is that LLMs don't really understand the relationships between standard odoo models. They get the ORM quite well for standard use cases, for sure...

🧵 I've been experimenting with #RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) to query my codebase, hoping to boost a local #LLM like #Llama or #CodeGemma with code knowledge. But honestly? The results have been underwhelming...

Toyed with @crewAIInc recently and it made me strongly dislike #pydantic. I get the use case for data validation, but using it in OOP classes is so *annoying*. Now I have to learn this complete library just to subclass crewai classes (or look for another ai tool chain) 🫠

I believe there is also a cultural difference in how we approach consumption. I can only speak for my social circles (let's call it comfortably middle-class), but we just don't want that many shits. We could all buy expensive skin care, VR electronics, fancy cereal, etc x.com/levelsio/status/1814139062883660140

Hola Odoo partners de España! Alguien tiene una buena recomendación para comprar hardware (pantallas, laptops, etc.) en b2b? Busco un mayorista o algo pero antes de crear cuentas en todas partes prefiero mirar a la inteligencia global 🙃

GNU/Linux is already an excellent OS for the cloud. Someone decided we should add 10 layers of abstraction on top of it for some reason... and now people complain that it's complicated 🙃 x.com/todaywasawesome/status/1782821797274218670

Following the #Apple #DMA debacle, and I'm very surprised to learn that the EU bloc only accounts for 7% of the Apple App Store revenues! arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2024/02/big-tech-is-extremely-unimpressed-by-apples-eu-app-store-changes/#:~:text=Europe%20generates%207%20percent%20of%20those%20revenues

Little side-project of mine; don't hesitate to have a look and share! It's still basically testing out some waters, let's call it a soft launch of sorts? Backstory: my mum needs to manage holiday rentals in an easy way and Google Drive has its limits :p Built with Odoo of course! x.com/hayvn_app/status/1746599788399718848

At @Odoo, though we use vms and rent our baremetal servers, we do not use kubernetes, or S3, or what most people think as 'the cloud' and it is a joy to have this knowledge in house. I would never advise a full cloud solution if you have a big enough team x.com/adamhjk/status/1628191966168219648

We've all cumulatively spent something like 200 years optimizing this, while the person who wrote it thought about it for all of 10 seconds and their code works without a hitch. Happy bastard x.com/Steve8708/status/1615391861035913216
